About the Job:

The Coeur Silvertip mine located in British Columbia, just 10 miles south of the Yukon border is seeking an Industrial Hygiene Coordinator to work in a camp based environment rotating on a two week in/two week out shift rotation.

Responsibilities:

- Manages occupational health program in an industrial setting; recognize, eliminate, and control occupational health hazards and diseases: Collects samples of dust, metals, gases,



vapors, and other potentially toxic materials for analysis;
- Determines effectiveness of engineering control methods and makes recommendations regarding location, design, structure, operations, and maintenance of contaminant and physical agent control systems;
- Conducting noise assessments;
- Cataloguing hazardous materials on site;
- Data interpretation in relation to legislative requirements;
- Performing respirator fit testing;
- Data entry and records administration;
- Investigates adequacy of ventilation, exhaust equipment, lighting, and other conditions which may affect employee health, comfort, or efficiency;
- Conducts evaluations of exposure to ionizing and nonionizing radiation and to noise and recommends measures to ensure maximum employee protection;
- Collaborates with the Safety Coordinators to institute control and remedial measures for hazardous and potentially hazardous conditions and equipment;
- Leads educational meetings in matters pertaining to occupational health;
- Consults with management, industrial engineers, employee representatives, and other agencies regarding industrial health problems and solutions;
- Works closely with and receive guidance from the Company Corporate Industrial Hygienist;




- Supports the Health and Safety manager in execution of the health and safety system and achievement of goals.
- Works closely with both the Silvertip Expansion Project and Operational Readiness teams to support the IH needs of the project.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Safety, Applied Sciences or Engineering or a two-year diploma in occupational health and safety with air sampling experience;
- Approximately 1-3 years of Industrial Hygiene experience within mining, oil and gas, chemicals or heavy industrial settings;
- Knowledge of air sampling instruments, ventilation testing equipment and measuring devices for noise, lasers, and other physical agents;
- Knowledge of industrial processes, equipment, and materials used in the work place;
- Knowledge of British Columbia Ministry statutes and rules concerning industrial hygiene and air pollution.

Additional Information:

- Willing to work a two-week rotation schedule, with 12-hour shifts per day at a remote camp.
- Eligible for Monthly Bonus.
- Our current designated marshalling locations are Vancouver, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Calgary, Edmonton, Whitehorse, Teslin, and Watson Lake.
