Job Overview:
Requirement/Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or a similar role.
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
- Good understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems as well as industrial equipment such as balancing machines, industrial ovens, drills, and forklifts.
- Robust verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated leadership.
- Action-oriented, autonomous, team-oriented, eager to learn, and passionate about continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze product specifications and clarify product requirements and manufacturing aspects with accountable R&D;, Engineering, and Product Management.
- Develop and calculate product modifications needed to increase efficiency of production and contribute to re-engineering.
- Provide detailed information on product specifications and on pieces and parts needed for product completion.
- Plan equipment layout, tools, and IT programs needed, and design or contribute to the design of the manufacturing workflow.
- Analyze manufacturing sequences during pilot series and test and analyze manufacturability of pre-series samples.
- Recommend product changes and implement production amendments.
- Conduct improvement projects on site or unit level and liaise with other engineering functions, external vendors, or service providers.
- Ensure appropriate process and product documentation.
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities as well as the installation of new equipment.
- Manage and supervise contractors performing maintenance work, updating cost and scheduling data in the CMMS system.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of maintenance best practices, including planning, scheduling, and spare parts management.
- Conduct Root Cause Analyses (RCA) and collaborate with Engineering teams to implement sustainable solutions to equipment and system failures.
- Periodically review and optimize the annual preventive maintenance program.
- Develop and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of maintenance activities.
- Ensure the integrity and updating of data in the CMMS system.
- Apply recognized standards as well as scientific and technical principles to resolve maintenance issues and assess deviations from established maintenance intervals.
- Prepare and manage work orders related to repairs and maintenance activities.
- Review procedures and the frequency of maintenance activities for existing equipment.
- Plan and supervise maintenance work, unplanned repairs, and the installation of new equipment.
- Ensure the safety of personnel and subcontractors during maintenance activities.
- Implement process improvement and cost reduction initiatives in indirect purchasing and equipment maintenance.
