A leading national business law firm is seeking a lawyer to join its Intellectual Property team in Montreal. The firm advises Canadian and international companies on strategic matters involving all areas of intellectual property.

The Role

As an Intellectual Property Lawyer, you will participate in a variety of matters involving transactional, commercial and contentious aspects of intellectual property.

You will advise clients in connection with transactions, due diligence reviews, contract negotiations and matters involving trademarks, copyrights, patents and other intellectual property assets.

Responsibilities

- Participate in due diligence reviews in commercial and corporate transactions
- Draft and review legal opinions relating to intellectual property
- Prepare, negotiate and review various intellectual property agreements
- Advise clients on trademarks, copyrights and patents
- Participate in the management of intellectual property disputes
- Conduct legal research and strategic analysis




- Collaborate with transactional and litigation teams on multidisciplinary mandates
- Contribute to the growth and visibility of the practice
- Maintain direct relationships with clients and other stakeholders

Requirements

- Member in good standing of the Québec Bar
- 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in intellectual property
- Multidisciplinary experience in transactional and contentious matters
- Excellent legal drafting and analytical skills
- Strong legal drafting and analytical skills
- Solid understanding of trademarks, copyrights and patents
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Team-oriented with a client-focused approach
- Commitment to excellence and sound professional judgment
- Fully bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written
