- Perform structural analysis, seismic qualification and assessment, structural design, and ageing management
- Prepare engineering design calculations for structural systems involving steel, reinforced concrete and masonry
- Prepare design documents and compile engineering packages
- Analyze structural systems and elements using ANSYS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, SSASI and other structural programs
- Ensure compliance with applicable Codes, Standards and Regulations and adequacy of design for permits and approved plans
- Deliver engineering deliverables and tasks within specified timelines and budgets
- Provide technical instructions to junior staff or designers
- Review and comment on others' work for accuracy, completeness and quality
- Participate in formal engineering design and other mandated reviews
- Perform plant walkdowns as required to support design requirements definition and detailed engineering of design modifications
Requirements
- Civil Engineering degree from an accredited University
- minimum 8 years of structural analysis and design experience in steel and concrete structures in Nuclear Power Plants and/or industrial buildings
- Must be Licensed in a skilled engineering organization recognized in Canada
- Preferably registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario
- 3 to 5 years of site or field experience in Nuclear Power Plants and/or industrial buildings is an asset
- Experience with static, dynamic and seismic analysis of structures and foundations
- Knowledge of modification process of Nuclear Power Plant; ECC process or similar is an asset
- Adequate knowledge of established Nuclear QA guidelines and procedures is an asset
- Knowledge of applicable nuclear safety codes and regulations is an asset
