Intermediate Financial Analyst to support a technology investment program using financial modelling, creating business cases, and ROI/CPVRR evaluations
Our energy & resources client is seeking a Intermediate Financial Analyst to support a technology investment program using financial modelling, creating business cases, and ROI/CPVRR evaluations
Candidates must be located in Edmonton. Candidates will be working a hybrid model of 2 days/week in-office
Must Haves
- 5+ years of experience as a Financial Analyst with a focus onbusiness cases, investment analysis, project controls, corporate finance, or FP&A;
- Advanced Microsoft Excel for financial modelling, scenario analysis, and complex formulas
- Experience in Business case creation, financial models, forecasts, budgets , or cost estimates
- CPA skilled designation or progress toward designation
Strong Nice to Haves:
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, Business, or a related discipline
- Experience supporting technology, digital transformation, infrastructure, or capital projects
- Experience within a large corporate environment
- Experience within utilities, energy, or regulated industries
Responsibilities
- Prepare project cost estimates, funding requirements, and total cost of ownership analyses
- Perform ROI, CPVRR, and other investment evaluations
- Validate financial assumptions and estimates from project teams, vendors, and stakeholders
- Review business case documentation for alignment with supporting financial models
- Assist with forecasting and variance explanations for intake-stage projects
- Consolidate financial information across multiple projects for portfolio-level reporting
- Maintain and enhance financial modelling templates, tools, and methodologies
