About The Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated IT Developer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will report directly to the IT Manager and will play a pivotal role in analyzing, designing, developing, and managing various IT solutions to support the organization’s educational and operational objectives. This position involves collaborating with multiple departments to develop custom applications, maintain existing systems, and implement innovative web and cloud-based solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess a solid technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to technology management. They will also participate in front-line user support, infrastructure maintenance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to ensure our IT environment remains robust, secure, and aligned with organizational goals.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will hold an undergraduate degree in computer science or a related field. A minimum of two years of experience in client-server and web application development within an analyst role is required. The organization may, at its discretion,



waive certain qualifications if a candidate from the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) beneficiaries demonstrates suitability and agrees to undertake a designated training plan.

Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in relevant programming languages, database management, and web technologies, along with strong communication skills in at least two of the three official languages of KI (Inuktitut, English, and French).

Responsibilities The IT Developer will be responsible for a broad range of duties, including but not limited to:

- Carrying out cost-benefit analyses for proposed IT solutions and establishing project timelines for implementation.
- Developing and supporting both custom and commercial computer systems used across the organization.
- Creating programs and applications to fulfill the specific needs of various departments and the overall organization.
- Documenting all applications, procedures, and system configurations to ensure clarity and maintainability.
- Upgrading and optimizing existing systems to newer platforms while ensuring seamless compatibility with other infrastructure components.
- Maintaining and enhancing web portals, ensuring their functionality and security.
- Analyzing and improving business processes and workflows through web or cloud-based solutions.
- Collaborating with departments such as Finance, Procurement, and Transport to develop systems for monitoring goods and services delivery.
- Assisting in resolving operational issues,



conducting tests, and supporting proof-of-concept initiatives.
- Applying best practices in software development, adhering to standards, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Participating in front-line user support, infrastructure management, and network maintenance activities.
- Performing other related tasks as assigned to support the organization’s IT objectives.

Benefits The position offers a competitive salary aligned with the SPPENOM collective agreement for professionals, with annual compensation ranging from $55,812 to $95,643 based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include 20 days of paid vacation, a two-week paid holiday period, and access to the Employee and Family Assistance Program.
