We are currently hiring for a contract I.T Field Service Technician position in Thunder Bay, ON . The ideal candidate should have 2–4 years of experience in a similar role and strong knowledge of Windows 7. Experience in Desktop Support, Laptops, Servers, Printers, Hardware Support, and iMac is required; POS experience is a plus.

Duration

2 years (possibility of an extension).

I.T. Field Service Technician Responsibilities

- Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware, and computer peripherals.
- Documents, maintains, upgrades, or replaces hardware and software systems.
- Supports user account information including rights, security, and system groups.
- Trains employees, identifies and repairs product failures, orders and replaces parts as needed.
- Determines and recommends which products or services best fit customers' needs.

Requirements

- Available to work extended hours including weekends and evenings for the duration of the contract.
- Robust written and verbal communication skills.
- High school diploma and college or university enrollment or degree.
- 2+ years experience as a break/fix Field IT technician and/or lead break/fix Field IT technician.




- Excellent technical knowledge of hardware and Windows 7 and Windows 10 operating systems.
- Working technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems, and standards.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
- Ability to develop and interpret technical documentation for training and end‑user procedures.
- Familiarity with personal computers, printers, and wireless connectivity devices.
- Possession and use of an owned car for travel between locations.
- Android 4.4+ or Apple iOS 9+ or Windows Phone 8+ with a data package to receive emails and instant messaging.
- Ability to lift a 20‑lb box from the floor to a tabletop surface.

Nice to Have

- College diploma or university degree in computer science and/or information technologies or 7–10 years equivalent work experience.
- CompTIA A+ certifications.
- Cisco or Microsoft certifications.

Compensation

$30‑35 per hour.

Incentives

- Mileage – Both ways at $0.38/km minus the first 20 km.
- Travel time – Last site location back to HUB.
