Position Title Janitor Job Type Full

Time The Janitor at Inn from the Cold (The Inn) will be responsible for keeping buildings in clean and orderly condition, and will perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Duties may include performing maintenance, inventory management and team collaboration activities, notifying management of need for repairs, and cleaning snow or debris from sidewalks.

Hand dust and clean: all office furnishings, file cabinets, fixtures, paneling, window sills and all other flat surfaces Update and track inventory Move heavy furniture, equipment, supplies (either manually or with aid) and clean under these areas as required Seasonally, remove snow from: sidewalks, driveways, stairwell and parking areas by using snow blowers, snow shovels and apply snow melting chemicals as required, and mow grass Provide support for handling facilities requests, including opening requests, understand and follow the communications practices and policies,



escalating and closing requests in a timely manner Be able to communicate issues and work with the Facilities team and cross-functional teams (such as Shelter) Follow and take seriously all safety, security, privacy and other company policies Assist with offloading or loading supplies as required Work alone and with team Participate in organizational activities including employee engagement activities, team meetings, town halls and team building The Janitor will be asked to perform other duties as required or assigned. High school diploma/GED Work experience in a public sector is highly desired Custodial/janitorial and inventory management experience Lean experience and/or knowledge is an asset Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment Driving licence and clean driving 3-year record is an asset, but not required Knowledge of Microsoft computer software (e.g. Excel, Word, etc.) First Aid skills and/or certificates are considered assets Competitive salary, where all employees are paid a living wage at minimum Focus on health and wellbeing, including access to employer paid extended health benefits, dental benefits,
