We are seeking a highly motivated Java Backend Developer, candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable server-side applications using Java and the Spring ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, cloud platforms, databases, and Agile development practices.

In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Calgary, AB is CAD $85k – CAD $95k/year & benefits (see below).

Design, develop, and maintain server-side applications using Java and Spring/Spring Boot frameworks.

Collaborate with front-end developers, architects, and product managers to deliver high-quality solutions.

Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.

Participate in code reviews, mentoring junior developers, and contributing to continuous improvement.

Develop unit and integration tests to ensure quality and maintainability.

Ensure application security, data protection, and compliance with industry standards.

Maintain CI/CD pipelines and support DevOps practices for deployment and monitoring.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.





5+ years of experience in Java back-end development.

Strong expertise in Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security).

Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis).

Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).

Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog, or New Relic.
