Construction LP commenced operations in 2019 as the industrial division of the Kichton Group to serve the Energy and Mining Industries throughout North America. Since inception, KCLP has grown sustainably and exponentially, starting with 30 experienced team members in 2019, to now over 400 team members and over 300 pieces of heavy equipment. KCLP is proud to continue operating alongside our Community Partner, the Chipewyan Prairie First Nation, as part of our NOHA/Kichton Joint-Venture.
We are seeking two Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technicians to support our Fort McMurray shop and various projects in and around the Fort McMurray region. We will consider both subcontract mechanics or those that want to work for us directly on the payroll. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience running their own truck and subcontracting to companies that work in the AB oilsands working on heavy equipment that is involved in reclamation, overburden and haul truck road maintenance.
He/she has a truck that is fully equipped with tools and diagnostic equipment to work on site fixing a variety of equipment (mostly CAT). We will potentially consider JM or 4th year mechanics without a service truck but with their own tools. This position reports into the Maintenance Manager.
LOA (project specific)
~Days but nights may be required depending on project. ~6:00 am to 6:00 pm (varies per project) ~ Travel and working outside required in various weather conditions ~ Own fully equipped truck and tools required. ~ Have WCB coverage and 5 million dollar liability insurance (subcontractors) 120.00 to $140.00 per hour (Subcontractor) $56 to $61 per hour. OT after 8/40. 9.6% vacation & stat holiday pay. 300/yr health spending account (Direct Hires only) Troubleshoot and repair various types of Heavy Equipment Complete detailed service and repair reports at the end of each shift. FLHAs, timesheets, pre and post inspections of all tools and equipment, etc.
Report incidents, near misses, equipment damage, and hazards to Supervisors immediately. Positively participate in all toolbox talks and all applicable company/site meetings. Travel to various job location to perform repairs Education/Qualifications/Training ~7+ years working in a simar role preferrable in a mine setting. ~ Must be proficient in English, both verbally and written. ~ Have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a valuable driver's abstract. ~ Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test. ~ Up to 14 hours of orientations and training required to access site. ~ Ability to organize and plan tasks with minimal supervision and able to adapt to changing priorities quickly.
