Join a team that’s naturally committed to the environment Stantec is currently seeking a Junior Environmental Scientist or EIT to join our Site Investigation, Remediation & Response (SIR) team in British Columbia. In this role, you’ll be directly involved in site investigations and remediation programs across a broad range of sectors, including provincial and federal agencies, ports and harbours, transportation infrastructure, and industrial and commercial developments.

You’ll work closely with intermediate and senior staff in both the field and office, gaining practical experience while building the technical foundation needed for a successful career in contaminated sites practice. Enjoys working outdoors in dynamic environments Wants to build long‑term technical depth in environmental consulting As part of the SIR team, your work will include a diverse mix of field and office responsibilities, such as: Supporting and implementing Phase I, II, and III ESAs, Stage 1 PSI, Stage 2 PSI/DSI, and remediation programs Conducting soil, soil vapour, sediment, groundwater,



and surface water sampling Developing site‑specific health and safety plans and helping lead field programs with safety as the top priority Producing clear, accurate field notes and documentation that meet data quality objectives Supervising and coordinating with subcontractors (e.g., drillers, hydrovac operators, utility locators, heavy equipment operators) Assisting with BC Contaminated Sites Regulation applications, including Approvals in Principle and Certificates of Compliance Managing and organizing field data using specialized equipment and software Supporting project managers with scopes, budgets, schedules, and field logistics Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across Stantec Canada, including geotechnical, water resources, atmospheric sciences, and indoor environments groups You’ll be exposed to a wide range of site conditions, regulatory frameworks, and technical challenges—accelerating your learning curve and career development. Previous experience in contaminated sites investigation (a strong asset) A collaborative mindset and comfort working with senior and intermediate staff A genuine interest in field work,
