We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Laboratory Technician specializing in Energy Minerals to join our team in Prince Rupert, BC.

In this role, you will be responsible for conducting various laboratory tests and analyses on energy mineral samples, ensuring accurate results and maintaining a safe work workplace. Perform sample preparation, analysis, and characterization of energy minerals using specialized laboratory equipment and techniques Collect, record, and analyze data from experiments and tests, ensuring accuracy and completeness Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality Adhere to and enforce safety protocols and procedures in the laboratory Conduct quality control checks and implement quality assurance measures Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and other professionals on research projects and investigations Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices in energy mineral analysis Assist in developing and improving laboratory procedures and methodologies Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Geology, Environmental Science,



or a related field Minimum of 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in the energy or minerals industry Proficiency in operating and maintaining various laboratory equipment and instruments Strong knowledge of sample preparation and analysis techniques for energy minerals Excellent data collection, analysis, and reporting skills Thorough understanding of laboratory safety protocols and procedures Experience with mineral testing and characterization methods Proven ability to implement and maintain quality control and assurance measures Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and laboratory information management systems Knowledge of energy minerals and their properties Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to energy mineral analysis Laboratory safety certification (e.g., Salary: $21 - $23 per hour / 40 hours per week. ~80% coverage Health, Dental and Vision ~ SGS is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and as such we recruit, hire, train, and promote persons in all job classifications without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression and Indigenous status, or any other characteristics protected by law.
