The law clerk will be part of the Definity legal department and will be responsible for all clerk duties of the litigation area. General file handling and practice management for litigation matters.

Drafting correspondence to clients, counsel, third parties, experts, etc. Preparing basic motion materials. Performing other duties as required of a law clerk.



Minimum 2 years of experience as a law clerk as part of a team practicing insurance litigation in Ontario or personal injury experience.

Knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure. Solid document management skills with the ability to learn and utilize Definity’s various software programs such as TeamConnect and ACL. Demonstrated proficiency with Outlook and all MS Office applications.

Ability to prioritize, organize and execute tasks in a quality manner with strong turnaround time. High degree of personal ethics, integrity, and responsibility with an ability to deal with sensitive issues and safeguard privileged and confidential information. Great attention to detail with proof reading skills.

High degree ofproficiencywith Englishrequiredto service customers, both internal to the company and external, across Canada.
