An international law firm recognized for its expertise in insurance and risk management is seeking a lawyer to join its Cyber Insurance & Cybersecurity team in Montreal. The firm advises insurers and insured clients across a variety of industries on complex claims, security incidents and strategic matters involving privacy protection and information technology.

The Role
As a Cyber Insurance & Cybersecurity Lawyer, you will work on a broad range of matters involving cyber risks, insurance coverage, privacy breaches and incident response management.
You will collaborate closely with insurers, experts and multidisciplinary teams on complex matters involving data protection, information technology and digital risk management.
Responsibilities
- Advise insurers regarding cyber-risk related claims
- Review and analyze insurance coverage under various cyber insurance policies
- Advise insurers and insured clients on cybersecurity, privacy and e-commerce matters
- Participate in security incident response and privacy breach mandates
- Collaborate with national and international legal teams on complex matters
- Work closely with technical experts to prepare and present client positions
- Draft legal opinions, incident reports and strategic correspondence
- Participate in risk assessment and analysis relating to cybersecurity and operational issues
- Maintain strong relationships with insurers and other stakeholders
- Participate actively in the growth and visibility of the practice
Requirements
- Member in good standing of the Québec Bar
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in cyber insurance, cybersecurity, privacy or technology-related litigation
- Strong interest in technology, cybersecurity and risk management matters
- Strong legal drafting and communication skills
- Strong analytical, synthesis and strategic reasoning abilities
- Ability to thrive in a demanding and team-oriented environment
- Rigour, autonomy, and strong attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills and team spirit
- Bilingualism in French and English
