A leading business law firm is seeking a lawyer to join its Real Estate Transactions team in Montreal. The firm advises Quebec, Canadian and international clients on strategic real estate transactions and complex projects involving significant commercial value.

The Role

As a Real Estate Transactions Lawyer, you will work on a broad range of commercial real estate matters involving acquisitions, financings, development projects and real estate restructurings.

You will collaborate closely with developers, investment firms, financial institutions and businesses on Quebec, Canadian and international transactions.

Responsibilities

- Participate in complex and strategic commercial real estate transactions
- Work on acquisitions, dispositions and real estate financings
- Draft and review purchase agreements, commercial leases and transactional documentation
- Participate in real estate due diligence reviews
- Assist in the legal structuring of real estate development projects
- Analyze titles, security interests and real estate documentation
- Participate in transactions involving institutional investors and private equity firms




- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across various practice groups
- Maintain direct relationships with clients and other stakeholders
- Contribute to the development of transaction strategies aligned with clients’ business objectives

Requirements

- Member in valuable standing of the Barreau du Québec or the Chambre des notaires du Québec
- 2 to 5 years of relevant real estate transactional experience
- Experience gained in a large law firm, specialized boutique or real estate in-house environment
- Excellent legal drafting and analytical skills
- Solid understanding of real estate, commercial and financial matters
- Ability to thrive in a demanding, fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Collaborative mindset and team-oriented approach
- Rigor, autonomy and commitment to excellence
- Bilingualism in French and English
