JOB TITLE:

Lead Child & Youth Worker | #2237

SERVICE AREA:

Early Learning & Youth Services

LOCATION:

Brock Junction (General Brock Elementary)

START DATE:

October 13, 2026

TERM/STATUS:

Permanent Part Time

SCHEDULE/HRS:

Monday to Friday 12:00-18:00 // 30 hours per week - Part time during school days, Temporary Full time hours during school breaks (Winter, Summer and Spring) and professional development days.

HOURLY WAGE:

$28.49 - $31.61 as per collective agreement (2024 rates, implementation of new collective agreement is in process and recent wage rates $30.22 to $33.54 will be implemented once funding is received)

The Role:

The Lead Child & Youth Worker ensures the provision of an enriched school age program by providing opportunities for learning and social skill development for children; including participants requiring extra support.

Education & Experience:

- Certificate or minimum of 3 years in related studies toward a degree such as Therapeutic Recreation,



Leisure Studies, Child Care, Social Sciences, or Education.

- Minimum 1 year of direct experience with children in a school aged setting.

- Strong interpersonal and team building skills.

- Formal training in the area of counselling and behaviour management.

- Requires physical strength, good balance, mobility and endurance for recreational activities.

Standard requirements of the Lead Child & Youth Worker include:

- Criminal Record Clearance

- Medical Clearance

- Satisfactory Driver’s Abstract
- Able to obtain a Class 4 Unrestricted Driver's License

- Valid First Aid/CPR
- Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification - training will be provided

- Demonstrated competency in English written and verbal communication

- Basic computer literacy
- Eligible to work in Canada
