LEAD MECHANIC - HINTON (HNT)

The Lead Mechanic isresponsible for the mechanical workings of all vehicles including managing thefleet issues, monitoring/controlling the maintenance costs, and supervising themechanic workforce. They will also be responsible for servicing and maintainingcompany equipment.

Responsibilities:

- Ensure thatTrican's core value, "Secure equipment and operations" is thepriority in all activities
- Counselassociates about work-related issues and assist apprentices andtechnicians to correct job-skill deficiencies
- Providedevelopmental direction to apprentices
- Examine objects,systems, or facilities, and analyze information to determine neededinstallations, services, or repairs
- Determineschedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on workpriority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel
- Understanding thepriorities of the maintenance department, its customers and stakeholders
- Monitor tool andpart inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops to ensureadequate working conditions
- Compileoperational and personnel records, such as time and production records,inventory data,



repair and maintenance statistics, and test results
- Service,diagnose, repair, assemble, and maintain vehicles and perform othermaintenance work
- Keep up to datewith industry standards and regulations
- Continuallystrives to improve work processes, methods, environment, customer service,personal and team performance
- Provide guidanceand instruction to less experienced operators, or apprentice maintenancepersonnel

Experience& Skills:

- Journeyman HeavyDuty Mechanic required
- Valid Class 1license preferred; will consider Class 3 or 5
- 2+ yearsexperience in a leadership role with fleet maintenance managementexperience preferred
- 4+ yearsexperience with diesel maintenance and preventative maintenance required
- Excellentorganizational skills and the ability to work in a high volume, fast pacedenvironment
- Safe drivingskills; driver’s abstract will be requested
- Physically fit –heavy lifting required
- Excellentinterpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficiency withcomputers including Microsoft Office and web-based applications preferred
- Robust customerservice, leadership and organizational skills required
