The Radio-Canada Libraries and Archives department is seeking a Librarian to join its team.
In this role, you will leverage your expertise to conduct research, deliver information resources, and develop and maintain key reference materials. You will also help refine controlled vocabularies — including taxonomies — in accordance with corporate standards and policies. Propose new offerings as technology and user needs evolve, while managing online publishing and quality control.
Contribute to the growth and refinement of specialized databases (e.g., key highlights, historical timelines and public administration reviews). Train clients on departmental resources and tools, advise them on applicable policies and standards, and author user guides for research tools. Help draft and refine them as needed.
Advise library staff and users on their interpretation and application. Recommend resource acquisitions in line with collection development policies. Identify obsolete material for removal.
Stay abreast of current events and maintain awareness of upcoming production projects to anticipate research needs.
Master’s degree in library and information science or equivalent. Deep familiarity with CBC/Radio-Canada programming. Proficiency in conducting database searches. Advanced knowledge of digital document management.
Fluency in French (working language). English language profile (BAA): beginner writing and speaking skills. Theory test assessing general knowledge and current events awareness. Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
