The Prince George Native Friendship Centre (PGNFC) delivers programs and services through a lens of reconciliation, as we have been doing since the inception of the PGNFC for the past 50+ years. this perspective is critical to reconciliation. we view this as a strengths-based process, where we build upon the multitude and diversity of existing strengths. Life Skills Support
Worker (Part Time) Indigenous Complex Care Housing The Prince George Native Friendship Centre requires individuals with knowledge of the health and social determinants impacting residents who may be experiencing homelessness or risk of homelessness and may be experiencing mental health and addictions.
The Indigenous Complex
Care (ICC) Life Skills Support Worker will deliver high quality,
resident focused programs across the continuum of community services and liaise with local community supports and other service providers. The ICC Life Skills Support Worker will provide the model of service that meets professional standards and evidence-based practices. This program is designed to meet the individual needs of each resident starting from where they are in their personal and cultural journey.
Willingness and ability to work with residents to be supported in identifying developing, and strengthening their cultural identity and their own life plan.
Experience in working with Indigenous groups/communities in a cultural context. Certification, First Aid, Class 4 Driver's License, Crisis Prevention Intervention, Suicide Intervention, Food Safe; Ability to undergo a successful criminal record search. Preference will be given to applicants of Canadian Indigenous ancestry.
