About the role
We are looking for a Logistics Coordinator who will be responsible for coordinating and executing the daily transportation, receiving, shipping and order management activities to ensure efficient and accurate movement of goods. In an environment primarily managed by external partners (3PLs and co-manufacturers), this person will track logistics operations, keep our systems updated and maintain daily communication with carriers and external partners. This role directly impacts inventory and cost accuracy, as well as adherence to delivery timelines.
Key responsibilities
Reporting to the Logistics Manager, you will:
- Coordinate daily logistics operations with carriers, 3PL partners, co-manufacturers, suppliers and internal teams.
- Plan and book transportation for supplier receipts, inter-site transfers and customer shipments with approved carriers.
- Obtain freight quotes when required and select the appropriate option based on service and cost parameters set by the Manager.
- Coordinate pickup and delivery windows with logistics partners.
- Track shipments and follow up as needed in case of delays or discrepancies.
- Identify and document transportation-related issues, disputes and claims, and escalate as needed.
- Enter and maintain purchase order receipts in the ERP system, inter-site transfers and inventory movements based on information provided by external partners.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of movement entries to maintain inventory reliability.
- Receive, enter and confirm customer orders, including EDI orders when required, and coordinate their execution with 3PL partners.
- Prepare shipping documents, cross-border and customs documents when required.
- Enter and code transportation costs associated with receipts, transfers and customer shipments.
- Reconcile carrier and 3PL partner invoices and identify discrepancies.
- Keep logistics records, data and documentation up to date in the systems.
- Promptly communicate operational issues that could impact inventory, costs or service levels.
- Participate in the application and improvement of logistics unit processes and procedures.
Candidate Profile
- 3-5 years in logistics coordination, operations, warehousing or supply chain.
- Comfortable with an ERP system.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Bilingual French-English, a strong asset.
- Detail-oriented and reliable, with high accuracy in data entry and strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable with high-volume recurring tasks.
- Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with external partners (carriers, 3PLs).
- Experience with EDI flows and customs documents, an asset.
- Experience in packaged consumer goods, an asset.
