Unit Summary The Logistics Portfolio provides six-site procurement and supplies distribution across the Juravinski Hospital & Cancer
Centre, Hamilton General, St. Peter's Maplewood and McMaster sites. Primary functions include contract development and administration, Purchasing, and Supply Chain Distribution. As well, Logistics manages formal relationships with several GPO's and other strategic alliances.
The Mail Room Aide functions as part of the Mail Services team at the Hamilton General, Juravinski Hospital & Cancer
Centre and McMaster Hospital Sites. The Mail Room Aide is responsible for the sorting and processing of inbound and outbound mail through both Canada Post and other mail/courier service agreements, including the operation of the mail meter equipment.

- High School, minimum Grade 10
- Good comprehension of English language in oral and written format
- Basic computer skills; use of MS Excel spreadsheet for month end reporting, look up on internet, eg. postal codes
- Understanding of geographic locations eg. Cities, provinces and countries
- Strong client service orientation supported by organizational and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to understand and follow standard operating procedures and directions
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in fast paced environment.
- Physical capability to work in the mail services environment -- constant standing, walking, pushing and pulling of heavy carts, lifting up to 25 lbs. working above shoulder level and below waist level, for extended periods, constant use of hands (principally mail sorting, some keyboarding)
