The Industrial
Millwright is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing manufacturing equipment throughout the facility, from winding machines to vacuum chambers and fabrication equipment. This role involves reading blueprints and schematics, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and performing preventive and predictive maintenance while collaborating closely with the broader maintenance team to minimize downtime. This is a hands‑on role for a Red Seal Certified Millwright who enjoys problem‑solving in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
Install, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, as required Read blueprints, diagrams/ schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures and, perform predictive and operational maintenance to equipment. Input,
review and update all maintenance related requests and actions in C-works and other systems as required Communicate with maintenance employees to exchange technical information to facilitate teamwork in the troubleshooting and repair process while coaching and mentoring Maintenance (OEE) technicians. Collaborates with the Maintenance Supervisor to develop workplans for short and long term projects as required.
Analyzes data trends to implement actions plans to ensure predictive maintenance. Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks, lift trucks etc. to position machinery and parts during the installation, set‑up and repair of machinery Use different testing and analysis to resolve problems (laser alignment tooling and vibrational analysis) Adjust machinery and repair (including painting duties) or replace defective parts Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during maintenance or set‑up of machinery (tack welding) Clean and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery Construct user instructions and preventative maintenance instructions for machinery as a reference Understand the transformer fabrication and manufacturing process and investigate process improvements Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures while performing duties as assigned by Supervisor Industrial Millwright Red Seal Licensed required Minimum five years’ experience repairing equipment in a fast paced manufacturing environment Knowledge of computer software such as MSO (project management software), Microsoft Excel/Word, Outlook Technical training and/or college diploma in mechanical/electrical would be considered an asset Experience with electrical, pneumatics, and controls are preferred Knowledge of transformer manufacturing is considered an asset Willingness to learn how to operate equipment (winding machines) to better understand the manufacturing process Poses the strength and stamina required to work with heavy equipment weighing in excess of 20 kgs Physical activities include sitting, standing, walking, bending, climbing, crouching, reaching, and grasping as needed Stamina required to stand during long shifts Moderate physical activities - handling and moving materials, use of hands and arms, positioning and operating equipment Working in a facility with loud noise, high temperatures, and environmental stressors Required to wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to eye protection, safety footwear and high visibility vests Current hours are Monday to Thursday from 6:00AM-4:30PM, however all shifts may vary dependent on business needs. This positon may require extended daily hours or extensive overtime hours without notice Regular scheduled overtime is scheduled for Friday's, depending on the needs of the business.
