Technical Projects | Customer, Supplier & Production Coordination

About the Opportunity

MarsMetal is seeking a highly organized and proactive Manufacturing Project Coordinator to support a growing portfolio of nuclear, medical, industrial and custom manufacturing projects.

As the business takes on more complex, project-based work, this person will help coordinate the activity that happens between the customer, internal production teams, and vendors. The role is about keeping projects moving, making sure everyone has the information they need, and staying on top of follow-ups so nothing gets missed.

While the role includes quality documentation, inspections and audit support, its primary focus is project coordination, customer communication, supplier coordination and follow-through.

What You Will Do

Project, Customer & Production Coordination

- Coordinate customer projects from order through production and delivery, maintaining a clear view of schedules, priorities, deliverables, and outstanding items.
- Serve as a key point of coordination for customers, providing updates, gathering required information, confirming requirements and keeping expectations aligned throughout projects.
- Work closely with production to communicate customer priorities, coordinate scheduling and ensure the information, materials and support required to move projects forward are available.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors, including machine shops, fabricators and weld shops, to communicate requirements, track progress and timelines, resolve issues and visit supplier facilities as needed.
- Monitor project progress across customers, production and suppliers, following up on open items and identifying delays,

quality concerns or other risks before they affect delivery.

Quality, Compliance & Documentation Support

- Support incoming, in-process and final product inspections, including related inspection records and reporting.
- Maintain accurate and organized project and quality documentation, including corrective actions, NCRs, training records, document control and audit preparation.
- Support ISO and CSA N299 quality-system requirements, ensuring required records and documentation remain current, complete and easy to retrieve.

What We Are Looking For

Education & Experience

- A diploma or degree in engineering, engineering technology, manufacturing, quality, or a related technical field is an asset, though relevant experience in a technical or manufacturing environment will also be considered.
- 1–4 years of experience in project coordination, manufacturing, supplier coordination, customer service, quality, or a related environment.
- Strong recent graduates with relevant co-op, internship, or hands-on experience are encouraged to apply.

Skills & Attributes

- Strong organization, follow-up, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and see outstanding items through to completion.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to communicate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

- Solid attention to detail and a practical, proactive problem-solving mindset.
- Able to work effectively with both office and shop-floor teams in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
- Technically curious and comfortable learning how products are manufactured and how customer requirements translate into production.
- Basic ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including dimensions, symbols and part features. Advanced inspection or quality experience is not required, and additional training will be provided.
- Willingness to travel locally to supplier facilities as required.

Nice to Have

- Exposure to manufacturing, project coordination, supplier management, customer or account coordination, or quality assurance.
- Familiarity with machining, fabrication, welding, or other manufacturing processes.
- Experience working in nuclear, medical, defense, or another regulated industry.
- Familiarity with ISO quality systems, CSA N299, inspection records, NCRs, or related quality documentation.

What Success Looks Like

- Customer projects are well organized, with schedules, priorities, deliverables, and outstanding items kept current.
- Customers, suppliers, and internal teams receive clear communication and timely follow-up.
- Potential delays, missing information, and other project issues are identified early and addressed before they become larger problems.
- Project, inspection, and quality documentation are accurate, organized, and easy to retrieve.
- The Director, Business & Product Development has additional capacity to focus on customers, new opportunities, and broader business growth.
