Join the City of Maple Ridge as a Health and Safety Expert. This pivotal role focuses on safety initiatives in a fast-paced, client-centered environment with no work from home. The Health and Safety Specialist reports directly to the Health and Safety Advisor and is essential to our Human Resources operations.

You will enhance safety protocols while collaborating with managers, employees, and external agencies. A background with a diploma in Occupational Health & Safety along with at least two years of relevant experience is desired to help drive improvements in workplace safety culture. Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct workplace safety inspections and investigations
- Advise on health and safety regulations compliance
- Generate database reports to analyze safety programs
- Document and interpret safety data and findings
- Foster effective partnerships with stakeholders

Requirements:

- Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or similar
- Two years of experience in a unionized environment
- Familiarity with WorksafeBC OHS regulations
- Proficiency with HR Information Systems
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License in BC
