Infrastructure
Solutions - we are experts in the design, manufacture and deployment of advanced technologies that positively impact the built environment. You will play a key role in LB Foster's Friction Management division,
where you will be responsible for the design and development of custom mechanical and electro-mechanical hardware specifically related to onboard train-mounted solutions. This work includes conceptualization, design, verification, validation, manufacture, and systems implementation.
Developing conceptual and detailed designs of customer mechanical and electro-mechanical systems for train-mounted applications. Conducting design validation and verification using FEA modelling, prototyping, and field assessment. Coordinating and participate in trials, installations, and test of equipment in the field.
Designing and conducting experiments and perform data acquisition and analysis. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related discipline. ~ EIT with EGBC or eligible for registration. ~2 to 4 years of experience in mechanical and electro-mechanical design.
Experience in the railroad industry an asset. ~ Proficiency with CAD modelling (SolidWorks preferred). FEA experience an asset. ~ Experience with electro-mechanical systems an asset, including automation, control systems, and instrumentation. PLC experience an asset. ~ Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to various national and international locations. ~ Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
