Role Description

This full-time Mechanical Engineer role is a hybrid position based in Montreal, QC, with a combination of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility.

The Mechanical

Engineer will design and analyze building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and energy efficiency measures, and prepare technical drawings and specifications. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing calculations, developing system layouts, reviewing CAD models, and coordinating with architects, other engineers, and contractors to ensure integration of mechanical solutions. The role involves participating in project meetings, supporting project management activities such as scheduling and documentation, and contributing to research and development of innovative, sustainable building technologies.

The Mechanical

Engineer will also assist with site visits, inspections,



and resolving technical issues during construction and commissioning.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering with experience applying engineering principles to building systems design.
- Proficiency in Machine Design and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for modeling, drafting, and detailing mechanical components and systems.
- Skills in Project Management, including planning, coordination, documentation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in Research and Development (R&D;), particularly related to energy-efficient technologies and innovative mechanical solutions for buildings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field; eligibility for professional engineering licensure (P.Eng.) in Ontario is an asset.
- Knowledge of building codes, standards, and best practices related to HVAC, plumbing, and energy performance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and quality in calculations and design documents.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Experience with sustainable design, energy modeling, or green building certifications (e.g., LEED) is an advantage.
