Job Title: Mechanical Assembler We are seeking a Mechanical Assembler to join our production team. In this role, you will work alongside your team to add chemicals to boards, test them, and ensure their quality before packing. You will conduct final assembly and packaging tasks, using hand tools such as torque wrenches and screwdrivers, with the responsibility of changing bits as needed.
Additionally, you will install, mount, and fasten parts, components, wiring, and harnesses to sub-assemblies and assemblies. Work at a designated station, primarily seated, utilizing a computer to access assigned assemblies and follow diagrams and instructions displayed on your screen. Perform repetitive, detail-oriented assembly tasks, ensuring all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality standards are met.
Assist in other areas such as Surface Mount Technology (SMT), hand soldering, and testing, which may require additional computer work, testing tools, and documentation. Manage inventory as part of the production process.
Strong
English communication skills with the ability to read and understand assembly documentation. ~ Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with SharePoint and completing extensive paperwork. ~ Experience with electronic assembly. Familiarity with Surface Mount Technology (SMT). Hand soldering experience.

You will work in a large, organized, clean, and quiet facility with multiple departments on the production floor. Employees may occasionally be exposed to dust, solder, metals, high noise levels from operating machinery, or physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts. The environment tends to be louder during morning shifts and quieter in the afternoon. The position requires training on the AM schedule before transitioning to the second shift, which runs from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burnaby, BC.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
