NEW VISION FAMILY HEALTH TEAM JOB POSTING Role: Medical Receptionist FTE: Permanent, 22.5 – 37.5 hours/week (0.6 – 1.0 FTE) Hourly Rate: $23.00 - $24.15 New Vision Family Health Team is a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centred primary care in a caring, coordinated, and responsive environment. The Medical

Receptionist is a key member of the healthcare team, responsible for providing efficient, accurate, and patient-centered administrative support in a clinical setting. This role includes greeting and checking in patients, scheduling appointments, managing phone inquiries, processing referrals, faxes, emails, and electronic medical record (EMR) messages, as well as billing, patient enrolment, and appointment coordination. Working closely with physicians, clinical staff, and patients, the Medical Receptionist plays a vital role in creating a welcoming environment and supporting the smooth delivery of patient care.

Patient

Reception & Front Desk Support Check-in patients, verify personal and health information, and update records as needed. Communicate appointment delays, schedule changes, and other clinic information to patients.



Appointment & Telephone Coordination Answer incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.

Provide patients with information regarding forms, referrals, test results, and instructions, where appropriate. Administrative & EMR Support Graduate of a Medical Office Assistant program or equivalent.

Current Basic Life

Support (BLS) / CPR, an asset. Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check. Completion of health screening requirements (MMR, Tdap, Varicella). Minimum one year of experience in a primary care or clinical setting preferred.

Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, an asset.
