Reporting to the Manager, Health Records, the Medical Travel Clerk provides specific support including medical interpretation and written translation, to individuals and community members going on medical travel. The Medical Travel Clerk will also provide timely information and completed documentation as required to the Supervisor.

The Medical Travel Clerk is responsible for preparing travel documentation for review by the Supervisor, and also answers telephone, provides medical interpretation and written translation support to medical travelers, completes and files paperwork, and liaises with In-Territory and out-of-Territory case managers.

The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are typically acquired through completion of Grade 10 and two years clerical experience providing direct customer service. Fluency in Inuktut and English is required.

This is a Highly Sensitive Position and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check is required.

The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages would be considered an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land,Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural workplace are also considered assets.
