AbouttheRole

The Microbiologist will be responsible for completing the day-to-day tasks assigned; this embraces routine microbiological testing including: sterility testing, growth promotion, bioburden testing, microbial identification, and other tests according to the USP and EP.

WhatYouWillDo

- Conductroutinemicrobiologicaltestingincluding:sterilitytesting,growthpromotion,bioburdentesting,microbialidentification,andothertestsaccordingtotheUSPandEP.
- Conductpeerreviewoflaboratoryrecords.
- ConductroutineenvironmentalmonitoringofcleanroomsaccordingtoSOPs.
- BeresponsibleforthemaintenanceoftheAtomVieMicrobiologyLaboratoryaccordingtoHealthCanadaGMPs,includingrecords,procedures,disposalofwaste,materials,equipment,androutineoperations.
- Supportcalibration/maintenanceofMicrobiologyequipment.
- Conductinventoryandmanagementofmicrobiologicalmaterials.
- AssistintheclosureofChangeControls,Non-Conformances,InvestigationsandCAPAsasspecifiedintheSOPs.




- SupportinvestigationsforMicrorelatedfailuresandnon-conformances.
- Assistinthewritingoftechnicaldocuments,customerandinternalreports,SOPs,protocols.
- SupporttheMediaFillprogram.
- UnderstandandworkundertheHealthCanadaGMPrequirementsforsterilepharmaceuticalsandtheAnnextotheGoodManufacturingPracticesGuidelinesGoodManufacturingPractices(GMP)forPositronEmittingRadiopharmaceuticals(PERs).
- Plan,implement,andsuccessfullycompleteassignedtasksinatimelyfashionensuringconsistenthighquality.
- Conductinvestigationsfortestingfailureandnon-conformancesandimplementcorrectiveactions.
- AdheretoGMPregulationsbymaintainingcompleterecordspertainingtoallaspectsofmicrobiologicaltesting,routineoperations,andequipmentmaintenance
- UnderstandandworkundertheHealthCanadaandFDAGMPrequirementsforsterilepharmaceuticals.
- UnderstandandworkundertheCanadianNuclearSafetyCommissionregulations.
- EnsurecompliancewithHealthandSafetyforallpolicies,proceduresandregulationsapplicabletotheirwork.
- Completeallotherdutiesasrequired.

What You Bring to the Role

- Proficiencywithspreadsheets(e.g.Excel,GoogleSheets),andabilitytowritetechnicaldocumentsandreports.
- Goodcommunicationskills(inEnglish)andabilitytoworkbothindependentlyandcooperativelyinateamenvironment.




- ExperienceinapharmaceuticalcGMPenvironment,experienceinAsepticOperations,Cleanrooms,andBiosafetyContainmentLevel2lab,andworkingunderCanadianNuclearSafetyCommissionregulationsareassetsinthisrole.

Requirements

- B.Sc.inMicrobiologyorarelatedfield.
- 1to3yearsofrelatedexperienceinMicrobiologicaltestingsuchasGrowthPromotion,Bioburden,EnvironmentalMonitoring,Sterilityand/orBacterialEndotoxin.
- This position requires shift work and alternating weekends.
- Abilitytoliftandmoveheavyweightsupto23kilogramsisrequired.

Compensation:

Annual salary starts at $58k. Compensation is based on relevant industry experience, academic credentials, and qualifications.
