Must Haves

- Experience in middleware software installation, configuration, tuning, system optimization and administration, as well as experience with application development
- Experience with middleware and gateways
- Hands-on experience with AWS or other cloud provider platforms migrating, deploying and managing cloud-native applications and services
- Experience with DevOps tools such as CodePipeline, CDK/CloudFormation, Kiro, CloudWatch, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or others
- Experience with web and applications tier servers

Description / Responsibilities / Skills

Description

- Senior Middleware Specialist to provide strategic and technical leadership for migration of multiple mission-critical enterprise applications to AWS
- Complex application portfolio includes Merative Cúram, Oracle Siebel, Oracle e-Business Suite, IBM BAW, Informatica, Cognos, WebSphere, WebLogic
- Phased migrate first, modernize second approach including Oracle Database upgrades 19c to 26ai and future-state containerization to Amazon EKS

Migration Strategy and Architecture

- Develop detailed AWS migration strategies, roadmaps, and migration waves.
- Produce target-state cloud architecture designs and transition plans.
- Validate application, infrastructure, integration, and database dependencies.
- Design and review AWS architecture including VPCs, EC2s, EBS, S3, Route 53, Load Balancers, Transit Gateway, Network segmentation, Security Groups, IAM
- Ensure alignment with government security, compliance, and operational standards.

Containerization and Cloud Modernization





- Support future modernization including Java upgrades to Java 21, Migration from traditional WebSphere to WebSphere Liberty
- Kubernetes architecture and implementation, Amazon EKS deployment strategy, Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

Security and Identity

- Design IAM and access management strategies.
- Integrate enterprise identity and SSO services.
- Support secure connectivity between AWS and on-premises environments.
- Assess compliance, audit, and operational controls.

Migration Governance

- Produce architecture decisions and technical documentation.
- Identify and manage migration risks and mitigation plans.
- Facilitate architecture reviews and technical workshops.
- Mentor internal teams and transfer knowledge.
- Support procurement, project planning, and executive reporting.

- Detailed AWS migration strategies, roadmaps, and migration waves
- Target-state cloud architecture designs and transition plans

Experience & Skill Set Requirements

Middleware Operational Support – 40

- Experience on application monitoring and support
- Experience Building and maintaining automated pipelines for build, test, and deployment
- Experience building and deploying containers and workload orchestration platform
- Experience with development framework/technologies




- Experience with change management and release management as processes supporting the implementation of large applications
- Experience with incident and problem management processes
- Experience in structured methodologies for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of applications
- Experience producing design artefacts, code, configurations, scripts, and test cases
- Ability to analyze the results from functional, security, load-and-stress testing and resolve reported issues
- Ability to analyze and solve data integrity, security, configuration and recovery issues
- Assess and test Change Requests (CRQ) with technical content and updating as necessary
- Ability to participate in release promotions/implementations
- A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines
- Knowledge of GO-PKI Security or similar public/private key Infrastructure
- Experience conducting system and application monitoring and performance and data integrity in accordance with ITIL standards
- Experience sustaining large application implementations based on the following technology products: Merative Curam, IBM WebSphere, IBM Cognos Analytics, IBM Business Automation Workflow, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Apache httpd, Oracle Database 19c (and later), Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition, Oracle Siebel, Oracle Identity Manager / Oracle Internet Directory, Oracle Analytics Server, Oracle Intelligent Advisor, Oracle Enterprise Business Suite (eBS), Informatica PowerCentre, CTRL-M Workload Automation, Nagios, Prometheus, DynaTrace, Grafana, SiteScope and other monitoring tools, OpenSearch, Logstash, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server, Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, AKS
