Millwright (Service Technician)

In this role, you will build trusted relationships with customers while providing expert technical support, maintenance, and commissioning services for our industrial products.

What You'll Do
As a Service technician, you will manage all phases of the field service cycle, including:
- Performing inspections, repairs, overhauls, alignments, and commissioning activities at customer sites and Voith facilities
- Troubleshooting, disassembling, reassembling, and maintaining Voith Hydrodynamic and Geared Industrial products
- Providing preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, and technical support services
- Preparing detailed service reports, maintenance analyses, and failure investigations
- Delivering exceptional customer support in person, by phone, and via email
- Determining scope of work, parts requirements, and tooling needs
- Assisting the quotation process by providing estimates for labor duration and expenses
- Coordinating service schedules and arranging support from additional field service representatives as required
- Supporting the inside and outside sales teams with technical expertise
- Completing expense reports, timesheets, and documentation to facilitate timely customer invoicing
- Ensuring strict compliance with all Voith safety standards, procedures, and operational directives
- Participating in special projects and assignments as required
What We're Looking For
Education
- Post‑secondary education in a mechanical field is considered an asset
- Red Seal certification or equivalent trade qualification is required
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of field service experience in a similar industry involving mechanical rotating equipment
- Experience with PLC controls is considered an asset
- Vibration analysis experience is considered an asset
Skills And Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly through service reports and customer interactions
- Strong customer service orientation and relationship‑building skills
- Confident and effective decision‑making abilities
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and schematics
- Fully fluent in English; French language skills are considered an asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (23 kg)
Travel and Working Conditions
- Availability to work overtime when required
- Travel throughout Canada and occasional international travel
- Ability to complete customer‑specific safety training and site access requirements
- Company‑provided in‑house technical training and development
