We are seeking an experienced Mobile Developer / Technical Lead for a 6-month contract, with a strong possibility of extension or conversion to a full-time permanent position. This is a hybrid role requiring 4 days per week onsite in Downtown Toronto.

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mobile Developer / Mobile Technical Lead to play a key role in building a new Direct Investing and Advisor digital experience.

This is a highly senior, hands-on position requiring strong mobile development expertise across iOS and Android, with particular emphasis on Kotlin and Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).

The ideal candidate will go beyond development execution and bring strong technical leadership, architectural thinking, and the ability to influence the direction of the mobile platform.

There is potential for this individual to transition into a full time Senior Manager-level position in the future. Candidates must therefore be open to potential permanent employment.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop enterprise-grade mobile applications for a new Direct Investing and Advisor digital experience.
- Develop solutions across both iOS and Android platforms.
- Build and maintain shared mobile functionality using Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).
- Provide technical leadership around mobile architecture, design patterns, engineering standards, and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with architects, product owners, business analysts, UX/UI teams, and engineering teams.
- Help establish scalable, reusable, and maintainable mobile development frameworks.




- Participate in architecture and technical design discussions and influence key technology decisions.
- Conduct code reviews and promote high-quality engineering practices.
- Troubleshoot complex mobile, integration, performance, and production issues.
- Ensure applications meet enterprise standards for security, reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to other developers.
- Contribute to the longer-term mobile engineering strategy and technical roadmap.

Ideal Candidate We are looking for more than a strong mobile developer. The ideal candidate is a seasoned mobile technology professional who can remain hands-on while providing technical leadership and influencing engineering decisions.

The strongest candidate will have deep expertise across iOS, Android, Kotlin, and Kotlin Multiplatform, be comfortable contributing to architectural decisions, and demonstrate the leadership maturity required to potentially transition into an Engineering Management / Senior Manager-level role.

Must-Have Qualifications

- Extensive senior-level experience developing mobile applications.
- Strong hands-on iOS development experience.
- Strong hands-on Android development experience.
- Advanced Kotlin development experience.
- Hands-on experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).




- Strong knowledge of mobile application architecture and modern design patterns.
- Experience building complex, production-grade mobile applications.
- Strong understanding of APIs, middleware, and mobile-to-backend integrations.
- Experience working within large-scale enterprise development environments.
- Excellent technical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior technical and business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and mentor other developers.
- Ability and willingness to consider potential conversion to a full-time position.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

- Previous experience with a major financial institution.
- Experience in Wealth Management, Direct Investing, brokerage, or trading platforms.
- Experience developing customer-facing financial services mobile applications.
- Experience building, modernizing, or scaling large mobile platforms.
- Knowledge of mobile security, authentication, and development within regulated environments.
- Previous experience as a Technical Lead, Lead Developer, Mobile Architect, or Engineering Lead.
- Leadership experience or demonstrated potential to progress into an Engineering Management / Senior Manager role.
- Experience working with highly regulated, security-sensitive, or enterprise-scale applications.
