Reporting to the Supervisor, Nuclear Medicine, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures in accordance with departmental policies and a client and family centred care model. Duties include preparing patients, operating imaging equipment, administering radiopharmaceuticals, and performing quality control testing.

Perform a full range of technical tasks: prepare patients, position them, administer radiopharmaceuticals, and operate Nuclear Medicine cameras, computers and counting equipment according to standards. Provide patient care before, during and after examinations and respond to emergent situations in accordance with policies





- Handle radioactive materials in compliance with license regulations; perform quality control and documentation. perform necessary quality control and documentation. perform quality control and documentation. Conduct non-imaging in-vivo/in-vitro Nuclear Medicine procedures and administer labeled products as required. Complete patient data archiving and ensure correct exams are recorded for billing/workload. Perform administrative duties in radiopharmacy information systems and manage supplies; monitor inventory levels. Perform routine quality control on all Nuclear Medicine equipment and troubleshoot as needed
- Maintain radiation safety, OH&S;, and infection control compliance; participate in ongoing training (infection control, radiation safety, safety modules). Orient, instruct and demonstrate procedures to staff and trainees. Participate in approved research and departmental Continuous Quality Improvement/LEAN initiatives. Education, Training and Experience Certification with the CAMRT (Nuclear Medicine). Working knowledge of PACS and digital imaging systems. Knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with nuclear medicine equipment. Knowledge of Canadian Nuclear Safety Regulations. Communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Strong planning and workload prioritization abilities
- Computer proficiency with current applications.
