- Ability to perform BCLS to the College of Nurses Standards
- Demonstrates knowledge of the nursing process and the ability to apply this knowledge in the clinical setting
- Recent cardiac care or medical/surgical experience
- Demonstrated experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and arrhythmia interpretation
- Demonstrates theoretical knowledge of the care of the general patient in the unit and the ability to apply this knowledge in a clinical setting




- Demonstrates a respectful attitude to patients, the public and colleagues
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in an oral and written format with patients, public, colleagues and other health professional
- Proficiency in English and French oral expression (level 4 - advanced) and comprehension (level 4 - advanced).

Hospital uses a 5-level language proficiency scale to define the required level of language skills in English and in French for positions at the Hospital, and to evaluate job candidate language skills. - Current consolidation experience in cardiovascular care;

Experience with cardiac monitoring / arrhythmia interpretation

- Recent course in coronary care, critical care or UOHI Cardiac Nursing Series
