Description In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
As a member of a multidisciplinary team in a homelike setting, is responsible for developing, implementing, evaluating and modifying programs for individual residents as they related to Occupation Therapy practice, in accordance with VIHA objectives, policies and standards, and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists' Guidelines for Client Centered Practice.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training And Experience
Graduation from a recognized university program in Occupational Therapy. Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as an Occupational Therapist. Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT).
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
