OCCASIONAL CATHOLIC TEACHERS

Mandatory Requirements:

- Qualifications to teach in Ontario
- Current Membership in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers
- Basic Qualifications in the Primary, Junior, Intermediate and/or Senior Divisions
- Completion of the following forms: Priest Reference Form from a Roman Catholic Parish, Faith Reference Form and Reflection Paper from NPSC’s Teacher Application Package

Preferred Requirements:

- French as a Second Language Part 1
- Special Education Part 1
- A repertoire of current instructional and assessment strategies
- An understanding of the Ontario Catholic Curriculum and effective strategies to teach literacy and numeracy
- Proven ability to teach French-as-a-Second Language would be considered an asset
- Knowledge of and experience in implementing balanced literacy and the use of student data to drive instruction
- Knowledge and experience in utilizing student learning management systems such as Google Classroom, Google Meet as well as additional G-Suite digital tools and EDSBY,



to facilitate instruction and effective communication with parents
- Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies
- Knowledge of and familiarity with the school setting would be an asset
