Vancouver School Board is seeking an On-Call Youth and Family Support Worker to assist school-aged students from September to June. This critical role focuses on individual support and behavior management in diverse educational settings. In this on-call position, you will address the needs of students in low incidence and behavior support programs. As a youth support worker, you will implement IEP goals, collaborate with teachers, and provide essential guidance during transitions.
Your role contributes significantly to enhancing student well-being and learning effectiveness. Key Responsibilities:
- Implement individual and small group programming
- Support IEP goals and document student progress
- Collaborate with staff for behavior support plans
- Manage behavioral issues and student supervision
- Prepare instructional materials for educational use
Requirements:
- Grade 12 plus 2 years post-secondary education
- 2 years of experience with challenging behaviors
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Familiarity with evidence-informed practices
- Willingness to obtain necessary training
