Help improve lives through outreach with Main Street Project as a Van Outreach Support Worker. This role focuses on assisting vulnerable individuals during night shifts, offering crucial support in Winnipeg. As part of the Van Outreach program, you will be responsible for engaging with community members facing homelessness, addiction, and mental health challenges.
Your nightly missions will include providing essential supplies, transportation, and resources to individuals in urgent situations. Your compassionate service will drive meaningful change in our community. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure clients receive food, clothing, and personal hygiene items
- Operate vans and provide crucial emergency transport
- Respond effectively to critical incidents and emergencies
- Monitor new encampment structures and support individuals
- Keep accurate records of outreach activities and interactions Requirements:
- Educational background in human services preferred
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with explicit checks required
- Knowledgeable in harm reduction strategies
- Strong interpersonal skills across diverse populations
