Part-time Academic Instructor (NURS 333.23) Winter Term of the 2026-2027 Academic Year

Description The Rankin School of Nursing invites applications for a Part-time Academic Instructor to teach NURS 333.23 (Care of Persons Experiencing Acute, Episodic & Life-Threatening Illness across the Life Span II) (6 credits) in the Winter term of the 2026- 2027 Academic Year. This position is subject to final budgetary approval. This course focuses on building students’ understanding and competence in applying theories, current evidence, and best practice guidelines in the care of diverse individuals and in caring for persons experiencing acute, episodic, and life-threatening illnesses in varied contexts and amidst underlying co-morbidities, with an emphasis on the aging population and health equity.

Course Number and Title: NURS 333.23 – Care of Persons Experiencing Acute, Episodic & Life-Threatening Illness across the Life Span II

Start and End Dates: January 5 – April 24, 2027

Class Schedule: Wednesdays, 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.; Thursdays 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.; Fridays, 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Delivery Mode: In-person, on campus

Duties

Part time Academic Instructor positions involve the normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course including but not limited to preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades; and holding regular office hours.

Qualifications

We seek candidates with expertise in acute care, adult nursing practice.





Candidates should have a PhD or Master’s degree with significant experience in the course area. Relevant teaching experience at the undergraduate level is an asset.
