This casual position focuses on surgical dictation and assisting pathologists with both routine and specialized autopsy procedures in Toronto. You will be a key part of the Pathology and Clinical Molecular Diagnostics team, working on life-changing diagnostics for children.
The role includes performing gross imaging, coordinating with other departments, and participating in academic initiatives, allowing you to improve child health through your expertise. Key Responsibilities:
- Execute surgical gross dictation and specimen dissection
- Assist in performing routine and forensic autopsies
- Conduct imaging for gross and microscopic specimens
- Facilitate collaboration on autopsy-related tasks
- Engage in quality assurance and academic contributions
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Life Science required
- Graduate or recent graduate of MCISc Pathologists' Assistant Program
- Prefer certification or eligibility with CAP-ACP
- Prior experience in dissection and autopsy assistance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and laboratory systems
