Position Overview

Reporting to the International Market Liaison, the Peer Recruitment Assistant (Student Ambassador) will support prospective students by engaging with them through our online platform, as well as at both virtual and in-person recruitment events.

- This role involves answering questions, sharing personal experiences, and providing insights into what it’s like to study at NAIT and live in Edmonton.
- Represent NAIT by replying to online messages, and/or live chat with prospective students through virtual peer recruitment platforms.
- Answer and build frequently asked questions and responses to support prospective students in applying to NAIT.
- Share personal experiences at NAIT with prospective international students.
- Create photo and video content to be shared through the peer recruitment platform, social media and marketing channels.
- Brainstorm creative content ideas that showcase NAIT programs, student experiences, campus life, and life in Edmonton.
- Work with international student communities, recruiters, and volunteers by supporting recruitment and promotional activities when needed.
- Potentially support communication and activities through different digital channels, such as WhatsApp groups, online communities, and other platforms used to engage prospective students.
- Assist at both virtual and in-person events, such as campus tours, webinars, information sessions, or any other on-campus events.
- Contribute to creating a welcoming environment for future students, helping them make informed decisions about studying at NAIT.

Skills & Abilities

- Ability to clearly communicate their academic and student life experiences to a variety of prospective students.
- Strong knowledge of the NAIT campus, student services, and opportunities to participate in the campus community.
- Strong interest in developing photo, video and written content for online platforms and social media.




- Comfortable appearing on camera and sharing authentic student experiences.
- Willingness to develop public speaking skills, student leadership, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Flexible work schedule with the ability to meet minimum expected work hours and commitments.
- Regular communication and engagement with the team are required.

Qualifications

- Must be a NAIT student enrolled in a program with a completion date no earlier than April 30, 2027.
- Experience with content creation and filming is an asset.
- Proficiency in additional languages is an asset.
- Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) or the Comparative Education Services (CES).

Classification & Remuneration

Classification – Administrative Support II. This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.

Remuneration: Refer to salary range noted on this posting, plus 12% in lieu of statutory holidays and vacation pay. Note: Remuneration for part-time positions will be pro-rated based on FTE (full-time equivalent). The compensation range for this job posting is : $20.79 - $27.91.
