Role Description The Performance Coach is a full-time, in office role based at the MOVATI Athletic club in Guelph, ON. This role focuses on designing and delivering performance-driven training programs for members, including strength and conditioning, athletic performance, and functional fitness sessions.
The Performance
Coach conducts assessments, sets individual goals, and provides ongoing coaching, feedback, and motivation to help members progress safely and effectively. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading one-on-one and small-group sessions, tracking member progress, collaborating with other fitness professionals,
and maintaining a high standard of member experience on the training floor. The role also involves promoting programs, supporting member retention, and contributing to a positive, inclusive club environment.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in Coaching and Training, with the ability to guide individuals and groups toward performance and wellness goals.
- Strong background in Athletic Performance and Strength & Conditioning, including program design and safe exercise progression.
- Experience with Business Coaching or client development, such as building a training roster, supporting member engagement, and contributing to program growth.
- Relevant certification(s) in fitness, personal training, strength & conditioning, or exercise science (e.g., CPT, CSCS, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of exercise physiology, injury prevention, and proper technique across a variety of training modalities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to inclusive, member-centered service.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required in a club environment.
- Previous experience in a fitness club, athletic training facility, or sport performance setting is an asset.
