2400 Skymark Avenue Unit 4 Mississauga ON L4W 5K5 The pay range for this role is 51 54 per hour Placement within the range will be determined based on relevant skills experience qualifications and internal equity The final offer will reflect the successful candidates background and demonstrated capabilities This position is an existing vacancy within the organization MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Oversees production activities to ensure compliance with regulation and corporate requirementsDirects and prioritizes the production processPerforms all quality checks for batch production including pre production checks and final releaseEnsures accurate completion of batch recordsdocumentationSupervises all activities related to storing producing and delivering of product to ensure that the pharmacy complies with provincial and federal regulations governing the practice of pharmacyDirects and prioritizes the production process utilizing professional knowledge to recognize critical customer needsUtilizes the pharmaceutical literature and Global and Local Standard Operating Procedures as the basis for judgment of pharmacy issues relating to the compounding of admixturesEstablishes validates and maintains quality assurance procedures and recordsObserves and assesses the equipment materials and procedures used in the facility and recommend changes where appropriateResponds to information requests from customers other health disciplines and FK personnel related to drug information and pharmacy practiceParticipates in departmental clinical and quality improvement initiativesEnsures all in process verifications are met to drive compliance and high quality standardsParticipates in inventory counts process validations and process improvements in generalAssists in the development and review of master batch records and SOPs as requiredAdheres to Good Documentation Practices and ensures completion of all required documentation as required by SOPsAssesses deviations for impact on compounded productPerforms AQPIC role for controlled drug substances ensures compliance with all regulations for controlled substances and ensures accurate inventorycountAssists with inventory maintenance and cycle countingObserves and assesses the equipment materials and procedures used in the facility and recommends changes where appropriateDevelops and maintains proficiency in the relevant computer systems to optimize productivity and efficiencyAssists in developing continuous quality improvement initiativesParticipates in the training and mentoring of new employees and studentsAssists in production activities ie compounding of product when the workload requiresAssists the managers or supervisors in the performance of their responsibilities and assume additional duties as directedExternally there is non direct interaction primarily with pharmacists or pharmacy technicians in the hospitals which are servicedMaintains up to date first aid trainingPerforms other duties as assignedWORKING CONDITIONS Must have the ability to work all shifts ie morning and evening shifts weekends and statutory holidaysAbility to handle multiple demands made simultaneously under short time constraintsPhysical Effort Lengthy periods of standing may occasionally be required10 of the time there is prolonged use of outstretched arms in front of the body while handling IV admixtures10 of the time a repetitive wrist bending motion is used while inspectingSome lifting of objects up to 20kg is requiredPhysical Environment The production and office areas are generally comfortable well lit and properly ventilatedThe environment is fast paced with short production lead timesQUALIFICATIONS Minimum university undergraduate degree in PharmacyLicensed in the province of Ontario with work experience in pharmacy hospital or pharmaceutical industry Experience in a sterile compounding setting is preferredIn depth understanding of aseptic technique using laminar flow hoodsMicrobiology GMP and USP 797 NAPRA standards for non hazardous sterile compounding knowledge is an assetMORE ABOUT US As ONE team the companies in the
