This position reports to the Pharmacy Manager and is responsible for receiving, preparing and delivering prescriptions accurately and timely. It involves maintaining adequate inventory levels, counseling patients with proper documentation, providing friendly and proactive customer interactions, and creating public awareness through health promotion activities.
What you'll do
- Prepare, dispense and control medications accurately and on time for patients.
- Ensure medication and over‑the‑counter supplement inventory levels meet patient needs.
- Counsel patients about new and additional medications in a friendly, positive manner.
- Create awareness and educate customers through public relations initiatives such as health days and clinics.
- Provide timely and positive resolution to patients’ needs and doctors’ requests or issues.
- Review and control costs at all levels within the Loblaw Pharmacy dispensary.
- Provide ongoing training for all new and existing pharmacy colleagues, including technicians, interns, students and IPGs.
What you’ll need
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and a Class A Pharmacists license (required).
- Superior customer relations skills and a strong sense of professionalism.
- Excellent leadership and performance‑management skills.
- Proven ability to build business using community‑based marketing strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, including experience in formulating and executing action plans.
- Strong personal computing skills and knowledge of Healthwatch and/or KROLL Pharmacy Computer System (asset).
Benefits
