The Pharmacy

Technician performs routine pharmaceutical work of a technical and clerical nature. Interviewing patients to create a “Best Possible Med History” (BPMH) and entering medication history information into the clinical information system (CIS)

- Assisting with inventory maintenance (e.g., Conveying information and materials related to the activities of the Department
- Maintaining pharmacy supplies and equipment




- Performing other related and allied duties which contribute to the orderly and productive operation of the Pharmacy Department
- PacMed and PacVision Unit dosing dispensing
- The Pharmacy Technician will have demonstrated competency in sterile parenteral preparation, checking prescriptions and wardstock, and obtaining Best Possible Medication Histories, or must successfully complete an internal certification/competency program(s) in at least two of these three areas within one year. This position requires that the incumbent to be currently registered as a pharmacy technician with the PEI College of Pharmacists (as outlined in the Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician Regulations). A working knowledge of computers and pharmacy related software. Previous experience in hospital pharmacy practice is considered an asset. Additional relevant education and experience will be considered an asset.
