Banff Sunshine

Village, located in Banff National Park is the premier ski and snowboard destination in the Canadian Rockies. Right now, we are actively recruiting for an energetic and creative individual to join our creative team as an in-house Photographer and Content Creator. The Photographer and Content Creator will play an integral role in our resort’s communications, social media, and marketing.

As Sunshine’s in-house Content Creator, the successful candidate will work hand in hand with the resort’s communications and events team to animate, capture, broadcast and bring to life the magic of Banff Sunshine commercially. As a Banff Sunshine Photographer and Content Creator your major responsibilities will include capturing, editing, and uploading daily/weekly video & photo content, editing commercials, editing reels/TikTok's, generating new web series and ideas, storyboarding video and photo concepts, working with various departments to update training videos and resources, creating graphics and visuals, completing creative requests, posting content across various social media, and working with various departments to generate marketing assets. Capturing DAILY awe-inspiring photos & videos that show the fun, magic and BEST of Banff Sunshine Village.

Creating graphics and visuals such as signs, posters, promotions, advertisements, presentations, documents, gifs etc. for digital and print.



Capturing and sharing the essence of Banff Sunshine Village for a variety of demographics – including but not limited to our local market, our international market, our park audience, and our family audience Creating content that highlights key services and amenities provided by Banff Sunshine Village, including Sunshine Mountain Lodge, ski school, restaurants, retail, rentals, grooming, etc. Capturing and editing video and photo content of all Sunshine events (rail jams, spring concert series, etc.).

Event recap videos will be posted online. Planning daily/weekly/monthly shoots for new and current web-series, content, projects and put them into execution (planning, filming, editing, etc.). Editing, uploading, and organizing daily photos & videos into a content library, ensuring proper file naming is being used.

Creating weekly "best of" photos & videos to share with various partners and media. Performing site inspections for video teasers, events, photo shoots, and television & movie productions. Assisting with media visits and ensuring to capture original content.

Working collaboratively with the entire Sunshine Creative Team – checking in and taking direction from department supervisors and managers. Assisting and executing with all Sunshine events and projects. You may be required to assist with setting up and tearing down of events.

Completing all creative requests in a timely manner, including edit requests. throughout all aspects of work as per Banff Sunshine Village brand policy.



Working with Sales & Marketing to create support content for upcoming sales and promotion campaigns. Working with all different departments of the resort, as well as external contractors.

Experienced outdoor videographer and photographer with excellent editing skills. Ability to edit commercials. Practical experience creating videos/photos for social networks and platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, Vimeo, and blogs.

Must stay up to date on the ever-changing preferences of various social networks. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, or advertising (preferred) - OR - equivalent work experience in photo/video creation and editing within social media focused environments (content creation).

Proficient Adobe Creative

Suite (Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects) and video editing software such as Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro is a must. Proficient with Microsoft Office. Travel to Calgary may be required from time to time.

Candidate must be able to sort out their own transportation and will be compensated for the trip as per Sunshine Village policy. This position will require overnight stays on the mountain while working on projects. In addition, this role may work at night, and will be in a remote, alpine environment.

This position may at times deal with sensitive, personal information and confidentiality must be adhered to. Skiing or snowboarding equipment used for work must be in positive operating condition, meet Sunshine Village Equipment requirements, and will be tested throughout the season. This role is subject to all terms and conditions of the Sunshine Village Employee Handbook and Policy Manual, and the Alberta Employment Standards Code.
