The Physician Assistant will work under the direct supervision of an immediately available Attending Trauma Physician or General Surgeon within a multidisciplinary team in an academic in-patient setting.

The Physician

Assistant will play a major role in facilitating consistent application of clinical protocols and continuity of care, and will also identify patients with acute clinical issues common to general surgery patients and work within the multidisciplinary team to appropriately manage patient care.

Assistant will provide a full range of physician assistant services in accordance with privileges granted, request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health care resources as indicated, order diagnostic tests as applicable,



prescribe and dispense medications as delineated by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.

- Graduate of Physician Assistant Program
- Prior experience in general surgery setting an asset
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions in times of emergencies
- Demonstrated ability to work alongside Intensivists, Nurses and other Health Care Professionals
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills
