Union: SEIU - Service New or Replacement Position: Replacement Site: UHN Reactivation Care Centre - 82 Buttonwood York, ON M6M 2J5 Transitional Care Program Shifts: Days - M-F Temporary Part-Time (6 month contact) As a Rehabilitation Assistant, your responsibility is to aid physiotherapists and occupational therapists in executing particular aspects of the treatment plan devised by the therapist. This assistance is provided under the direct supervision of the therapist. Provide equipment and modify materials for patient treatment.
Prepare materials, maintain records, and ensure clean treatment areas.
Uphold safety standards and hospital protocols. Contribute to student education and training. Stay informed about circumstances and actions that could impact the well-being of patients, residents, students, staff, volunteers, doctors, and visitors, including: Complying with hospital safety standards and relevant laws Attending safety meetings/training to meet the Center's criteria Ability to work in a manner that exemplifies the Centre's core values and helps patients get their life back Certificate in Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Assistance.
Proficiency in rehabilitation principles and tools. Knowledge of patient movement and transfer techniques. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite. Flexible availability, including weekends. Consistent attendance and performance history.
