Supporting municipalities with public transportation and water/wastewater facilities. Expanding and enhancing a well-integrated transportation system and enabling market access. Preserving and developing the provincial highway network and water management infrastructure.

Lead the development, analysis, and evaluation of transportation safety policies, programs, and legislation. Manage complex projects and initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and government partners. Provide strategic policy advice and evidence-based recommendations to senior leadership.

Research emerging issues, assess risks and impacts,



and identify opportunities for policy improvement. Prepare briefing notes, reports, presentations, Cabinet materials, and other decision-support documents. Lead stakeholder engagement and consultation activities with industry, government, Indigenous communities, and other partners.

Build collaborative relationships to support policy development, program implementation, and continuous improvement. Represent the ministry on committees, working groups, and cross-government initiatives.

Creative Problem Solving: Engages the community and resources at hand to address issues Knowledge of Alberta’s transportation system, transportation legislation, policy development, and government decision-making processes.

Experience conducting policy research, analysis, evaluation, and developing evidence-based recommendations. Strong project management skills, including coordinating multi-stakeholder initiatives and managing competing priorities. Proven stakeholder engagement, consultation, facilitation, and consensus-building skills.

Solid leadership, problem-solving, relationship-building, and decision-making abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (including Copilot, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat Pro, and survey tools.

Experience with contract development and vendor management is an asset. Permanent, Full-time position.
